Account Manager

Ref: 06948 | Permanent | London | £30000 - £40000 per Annum

Award winning PR & Digital Comms agency are looking to recruit an energetic, fun and creative PR Account Manager in the Food and Drink space. You will be responsible for providing counsel to a portfolio of amazing clients; running various integrated campaigns across traditional, digital and social platforms as well as taking responsibility for coaching, mentoring and developing the junior team.
With over 60 awards/accreditations received over the last 3 years, recognising their campaigns, culture and their amazing teams, we are on the lookout for a PR Manager to work with some of the UK`s best loved consumer brands.
The PR Account Manager should have:
Excellent writing skills (previous influencer or journalist experience desirable but not essential)
Experience delivering social media, content and influencer campaigns
Aptitude to build a network of influencers and journalists
Experience in driving content led strategies
Independent and entrepreneurial approach to work
Flair for creativity, strategic thinking and innovation
Demonstrable ability to learn new concepts quickly and challenge the status quo
High levels of communication - presentation, verbal and written skills

Key responsibilities:
Team Management
Collaborate effectively with the senior team to manage and coach junior team members and direct their day to day work
Identify areas for improvement and recommend training programmes to address these
Nurture the growth of team members by creating opportunities in which they can showcase their expertise and ability to clients and our client
Proactively share own expertise and contribute to thought leadership
Proactively and regularly provides ideas to the team and runs small scale brainstorms where appropriate

Client Relations
Develop excellent working relationships and visibility with key middle / senior management personnel in client companies to both gain their trust and respect for the work that our clients does and to secure long term mutual business success
Adapt style to reflect different clients and ensure communication is tailored to each client contact
Maintain regular dialogue with the brand teams to ensure that our client is up to date with current thinking and specific brand plans for possible PR exploitation
Get close to all relevant client market tracking data, trends, relevant category and competitor news to gain a deep understanding of the broader strategic issues that face them in terms of industry trends and competitor activity
Ensure smooth communication flow between the client in terms of meeting deadlines and delivering top quality written and verbal material
Follow best practice in leading status meetings and status reports and act independently from the Account Director as appropriate
Constantly look at means of merchandising our PR successes to a broader audience beyond your day to day contacts with the development/management of a regular communications tool
Prepare, shape and participate in annual PR planning meetings with clients
Identify issues with clients, report it to senior team and work collaborative to offer solutions

Media Relations & Campaign Delivery
Ensure in-depth knowledge of the current media landscape and relevance for client brands and campaigns
Draft, gain approval for and issue press releases and feature information for all key launches and initiatives
Demonstrate a solid understanding of how media ideas can be translated across digital and social media channels
Align relevant platform knowledge to campaign strategies to meet client objectives
Regularly review client`s coverage to spot potential gaps in media support and address accordingly
Meet regularly with key media in order to build relationships, maintain an in-depth knowledge of their brand and to talk through potential new opportunities
Manages all media and client projects efficiently and to the highest standards, meeting all required deadlines

Project Management
Oversee all the logistics for trade press briefings / publishing house tours / one on ones, e.g. booking venue, issuing invitations, arranging product samples and room decorations, handling presentations (whether created internally or externally), putting together press packs, etc.
Manage upwards to ensure that senior team members are kept informed of developments.
Raise issues timely and work collaboratively to find solutions.
Lead the creation of the event book and issue to all relevant stakeholders internally and externally
Negotiate favourable rates with all third party suppliers

Financial Management
Ensure excellent management of budgets and POs and monitor budgets on a monthly basis
Understand the construction of budgets within proposal writing
